She is a Training Consultant to Special Olympics Ireland, the Confederation of Golf in Ireland (CGI), Sports Northern Ireland, the PGA and formerly Junior Golf Ireland
Having worked extensively throughout her career with individuals and teams to develop and improve their golf game, Gillian Burrell has seen first hand the impact that perception and mindset have on performance. As a leading expert in coaching and coach education, Gillian has worked as a Training Consultant with many different governing bodies throughout Ireland. She also spent several years working with the ILGU as Leinster Coach and travelling Coach with the Irish ladies and Girls teams, helping Ireland win their only European Junior Championship in 2009. Current Tour players Leona & Lisa Maguire, Stephanie Meadow were members of that team. Gillian also coached the Irish Ladies Champion in 2010 Mary Dowling as well as the Ladies European Tour Members and Access players.
Looking beyond the technical details of the game to work on individual motivation and team dynamics, Gillian has helped clients consider their focus, vision and strategy to play the game with greater success. Beyond the golf course and into clubs and corporate environments, Gillian helps individuals and teams, coaching them to apply these fundamental principles to understand and harness what drives them to achieve their goals.

She is currently Lead Tutor in the PGA Coach Education Programme in Ireland, tutoring and assessing on both the under-graduate and post- grad courses
She sat on and Chaired the board of Junior golf Ireland prior to the launch of the Confederation of Golf in Ireland
She was awarded her Advanced Fellowship of the PGA in 2016 for her contribution to Coaching & her work in Coach Education and has recently featured in Golf Monthly’s Top 100 Coaches in GB & I
In 2013 Gillian was honoured to receive the PGA of Europe President’s Award for her work in Golf Development
In 2018, Gillian was chosen to became PGA Captain in Ireland and continues to serve on the National Committee working with the new PGA “welovegolf” campaign
